RE: wonderful october camping trip

Well our mountain campgrounds should be closing soon, but our desert camping season is just beginning. The desert is beautiful in the fall and winter. Warm days and cool/cold nights. Glad we don't have to do the whole winterizing ritual. We really wouldn't have a clue as to what to do first. I am looking forward to winter...:p

RE: Another Camping World closing

WOW...thats sad news to hear. Our dealerships down here seem to be still going strong and there are many dealerships near where I live. I don't really know how their doing it, but they are hanging in there somehow.

RE: Rear Kitchen TTs By Jayco and Others

We are on our second rear kitchen model, both Starcraft Homesteads, and I love them. We have never had any issues with towing or with things falling all over the place as some have said to be a problem in other threads. There is more counter space and they are just so cozy looking to me. We also have 2 friends that we camp with that have rear kitchens too and they love theirs also.

RE: How long are you going to keep your current travel trailer?

Heck, we just bought it in July. We are very happy and plan on keeping it for quite some time. Last one we had for 4 years, so who knows what the future may bring.

RE: Full time with 4 children?

Wow...thats quite an adventure your planning. I don't know if I'd be able to handle it with just DH and me. I don't really have any tips, I guess it'll be a learning experience as you go along. Good luck with your venture and with selling your house.

RE: Thoughts on stepping down to Pup

We had a Coleman Santa Fe, so it wasn't a 8'r, but no one under any circumstances would ever be able to convince me to go back. We use ours all the time, all year long and its so easy and comfortable. Some may not call it real camping...Oh well...I guess we can consider ourselves RV'rs then. No difference, we still go all the places we did with the pup and go to places where we couldn't with the pup. Its really the best of both worlds for us.

RE: What size tt towable by a 1997 Ford Explorer?

We know someone who pulls a 25 ft'r with theirs. He says it does fine, but just looking at that combo would scare me. The trailer is just so much larger than that vehicle.

RE: Thoughts on stepping down to Pup

We loved our pup for many years and made great memories in it. It really comes down to how you like to camp and what meets your families needs. We are spoiled and love our full bathroom, big slide out and lots of kitchen counter space. What really got old was the set up, making those crazy bed ends, as we hate sleeping bags, packing food inside large plastic storage boxes, dragging huge coolers everywhere, always having to buy ice, and more. Its just so much more work. One other biggie is the price of these things. Some are up to $20,000. FOR A TENT on wheels. How can anyone justify that! I would never go back...

RE: Stolen Hitch

I 've left mine in at times for awhile over the years, nothing happened to it...but now in the state of PA.it is ILLEGAL to leave it in the reciever if not pulling a trailer, and they will fine you for it....(Don't get me started!!!!!)Anyway that gives me motivation enough to always pull it out when not in use.Wow, that is interesting to know, as we are heading out there next summer. Just wondering if we would get fined if caught, or just a warned as we are from out of state...you know, not knowing that we couldn't leave it in. Thats weird...we always leave ours in while driving around when were camping. I wonder what other states its illegal in?

RE: Just returned home from Hershey, PA RV Show

We are going to go next year. I wish it were only 7 hours for us. It's going to be a long long trip. I also have family out there just north of Hershey, so it'll be fun.

RE: Dealing with the dealership

UUUGGGGHHHH...No. We took ours and it was a good hour drive. I never expected anything except for them to do a good job, which they did. Geeez, I never heard of anything like that.
